Be careful not to violate the rental agreement by driving under the influence of alcohol or any other substance. The permissible blood alcohol limit is 0.05%. If you exceed it, you will pay a fine. If your blood alcohol content is over 0.08%, this is considered a criminal offense and you will be taken into custody. Random breathalyzer tests are done very often, especially late at night in the form of an unscheduled block on the main roads throughout the island of Paros.
The fine for driving under the influence of alcohol is €200 for a blood alcohol content of 0.25 – 0.40 mg/l, €700 for 0.40 – 0.60 mg/l and a 90-day driving license revocation and a fine of 1,200 €, revocation of driver’s license for 180 days and at least two months in prison above 0.60 mg/l.
It is important to emphasize that in case of an accident under the influence of alcohol, you are not covered by any type of insurance and all damages are covered by you.
